Gymnastics Workshop in Ass. with Bas. Gym Club  

This initial workshop covers a number of variables.  There is a section tailored towards the fitness enthusiast looking to improve technique and gain knowledge of progressions to help with bodyweight strength and conditioning workouts.  This leads in to ring work, followed by more typical gymnastic skill work including back/front tucks and flips and then finally in to urban gymnastics/parkour movements.  This final section will lead you up to an open gym session at the only urban gymnastics venue in the country that boasts over 1200 members for this section alone.

 Order of the day 

08.30 – 9.00 a.m. registration
9.00 a.m. – 12 noon – Foundations!  Brief theory and then bodyweight drills.  Pull ups, kipping pull ups, handstands, handstand push ups, L sits, L sit pull ups and ALL progression drills for these movements.
12 noon – 1 p.m. lunch
1 – 2 p.m. Ring work – hand position, false grip, ring dips, ring pull ups, muscle ups, front/back levers and progressions for all movements
2 – 4 p.m. Artistic, Freestyle, Skill and Urban Gymnastics – back tucks, front tucks, flips, basic urban gymnastic drills and parkour movements.
4 – 8.30 p.m. Optional – open gym giving access to the entire facility and the knowledge of the trainers and other highly experienced urban gymnasts.
